Parish Outreach is an organized service activity within the Parish to enable it to fulfill the Church's role of building the Kingdom of God. It is essentially concerned with developing the Christian community. It is a joint effort of Catholic Charities and Infant Jesus Parish to call various resources to alleviate human suffering and increase the ability of the Parish to care for itself. There are three main goals: 1) Convening - to bring people together; 2) Direct Service - to facilitate concrete help to those in need within a loving community; 3) Advocacy - to strike at the root causes of persistent human problems.

Parish Outreach also offers referral information in meeting the needs of our community. The needs might be financial, medical, emotional; they may include emergency needs for food, clothing or shelter; they may be the needs of the alcoholic, the abused, the drug abuser, unwed mother or the families of those mentioned. People residing within the boundaries of Infant Jesus Parish, regardless of race, religion or financial situation may request assistance by calling the Outreach Office at 331-6145. Our program is free of charge. It is designed to provide complete confidentiality and a deep respect for the person in need.

Pax Christi Hospitality Center
In cooperation with Hope House Ministries and Christian churches in our area, we help staff this important and necessary program which aids the needy in a threefold way; shelter and food, human needs and services, advocacy and networking. Volunteers are urged to come forward for any one of the three areas according to your own time available. Training will be provided. Please contact Pax Christi Hospitality Center, 928-9108.
