Permanent Deacon
Robert A. Kruse, Deacon (Deacon Bob)
My wife Karen and I moved to Port Jefferson Station in 1989 and became members of Infant Jesus Parish. We are blessed to have four wonderful children. In our leisure time we enjoy spending time out of doors and taking advantage of the wonderful waters around Long Land. We enjoy sailing, fishing and spending time at the beach. We also enjoy bicycling and camping. Karen is an avid gardener and cook.
My faith journey has taken me a long way over the years and has included many wonderful experiences. When Karen and I met, she was a member of St. Kilian Parish, in Farmingdale and we were married there on September 2, 1984. I was originally confirmed as a Lutheran, however, in 1997 God called me to follow a different path and I joined the RCIA group. That following Easter I became a member in full communion with the Catholic Church. I had no idea just where that journey would lead me and after 5 years of further study, (two years of Pastoral Formation Institute and three years at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception) I was ordained a Permanent Deacon on May 22, 2004 by the Most Reverend William F. Murphy at Saint Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre.
I am pleased and privileged to be able to share my faith and ministry in service to the people of God at Infant Jesus Parish and look forward to the many new and wonderful experiences God is waiting to unfold to this faithful and caring community. Peace and God Bless.
