Linda C. Vanella, MSW

I was born in Lower New York City in 1952 and resided there until my early teens when my parents moved to Nassau County. My brother and I enjoyed a Catholic School education and entered into public education in secondary school. I attended Molloy College and graduated in 1974. I majored in Sociology and eventually completed a masters in 1991 at SUNY, Stony Brook. I enjoy pursuing education in fields such as social work, community advocacy, spirituality, and women's health . My ability to converse in Spanish is something I continue to pursue and make fluent. I have taught classes in social advocacy, and cultural anthropology and enjoy working with people of various cultures.

I have always been involved in community action and continue to at this time, as I minister to the people in this wonderful community. I have held workshops in Parenting Skills, Bereavement, Support, and Health Issues for Women. I enjoy travel, and gathering people for various projects and endeavors.

My ten years have been full of wonder and growth as the Covenant Community continues to collect us within the Kingdom. I enjoy meeting with parishioners and addressing needs of the community.

We have held groups for bereavement, divorce, parenting skills, health issues, relationship, women's gatherings, and other such interests. Please come in or call if you would like to know more about Parish Social Ministry. We are always looking for volunteers to visit parishioners, shop, drive, or advocate for others.
